Hi, I’m Polly - the face and floral designer behind What a Lovely Bunch.

I am based in the South East and travel UK wide to flower for weddings and events. My floral style would best be described as romantic and playful, with a contemporary aesthetic.

I have had the opportunity to train with some exceptional floral designers and attended courses & workshops with the likes of Bloom and Burn, Lucy Vail and The school of sustainable floristry.

I have a deep appreciation and understanding of nature and the changing seasons which I strive to integrate into each of my designs in creative and playful ways including working with local flower growers to pepper in ‘seasonal hero’s’ into my designs.

I’m currently fascinated with the formations of clouds and exploring ways I can introduce these beautiful shapes into my designs through the use of different textured petals, colour blocking and the use of ‘heavier’ flowers .

Each wedding is What a Lovely Bunch wedding is unique and I love delving into the design process for each couple, often spending hours behind the scenes nailing the brief. You’ll notice my designs are floral heavy with a focus predominantly on focal statement flowers (the fancy ones). Some of my favourite flowers to work into my designs this year have been; Peonies, Hydrangeas, Delphiniums, sweet peas, David Austen garden Roses and of course, Dahlias.

Flowers are personal and for me, one of the most rewarding parts of my job as a floral designer is getting to witness the beautiful emotions that can be evoked by flowers and the symbolism they hold for each of my clients.

I adore connecting with others and I am forever bursting with ideas and enthusiasm which enables me to create truly bespoke and personal florals for my clients.

If you’re planning your wedding of event - I would love to hear from you!

With love,

Polly x

  • For as long as I can remember I have been enthralled with nature and the outdoors. My mother is a flower grower and florist and from an early age, me and my sister were given a small plot of the garden to dig and grow our own flower's. I would be the child who’d burst through the school gates with garden posy’s wrapped in tinfoil for my teachers. At lunch time I’d triumphantly head off to nature club and this is where I started building my understanding and appreciation for flora.

  • I pursued a busy Nursing career in London, yet nature and flowers always seemed to be my sweet escape. Whether this was picking interesting stems on walks or buying a selection of supermarket flowers, refashioning them into wholesome bouquets for friends.

Flowers truly are my ‘happy place’. I am in constant awe of their power to evoke strong emotions and memory through their senses. Whether it is the vibrant yellow of the daffodils to signify spring and new beginnings, or the nostalgic scent of a sweet pea and garden roses which transport you back to carefree days.

  • I enjoy daily walks in the countryside, woodlands and coast which heavily influence my colour palettes and draw inspiration for designs. In the summer, I enjoy the rambling hedgerow roses and find they look so beautiful in bowl arrangements, trailing off. Last winter I created a wreath inspired by the north Norfolk marshland, known for its moody tones created by the plumes of sea lavender. It feels important to me for my arrangements to have a deeper meaning, to be part of a story. I take time to navigate how the arrangement can evoke and convey emotions or memories of place or person.
